Amy VanDusen

I am a Registered Nurse & a yoga, meditation and fitness instructor based in Hermosa Beach, California. I am also a Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Functional Medicine Health Coach and have spent nearly three decades working in the operating room.

Finding yoga, meditation and alternative healing modalities to quiet the mind, while still maintaining my strength and optimal health, led me to study functional medicine and this health coaching role in health and well-being.

Once I had my daughter, I found an even more acute awareness of the mind-body connection, along with breathing , and its healing properties. With my medical and educational background and experienced reinforce the powerful and dynamic interaction between the mind, body and spirit and impact on overall wellness. She is now in her early twenties and I have been able to walk along side of her health and well-being journey. I have developed a sensitivity and passion for the population of females.

It is both an honor and a privilege to walk along side these young females as we co-create their health and well-being goals towards THEIR optimal health. I have been coaching for three years, and have found such profound results using active listening ,positive psychology, motivational interviewing - all aiding the client twoards their best health. I feel as a nurse/health coach, I am acting as a uniquely positioned bridge between my studies in western medicine and my role towards behavioral change.

Life dosen’t always go as planned and we can get thrown off track, impacting our health and well-being. I believe we all have the power to take control and get back on course. We all deserve to THRIVE in the life we desire.
